    Description

    This auction is for a copy of The German Insurance Company of Freeport, Ilinois policy for insuring a piece of property for Aggie and J. W. Reamsnider.  Eighteenth of January, 1898 to Eighteenth of January, 1899.  Two Hundred Fifty.  Property:  250 on their two story shingle roofed frame building and additions used for a feed mill and situated on Lot 19 in the assessors subdivision in the village of Findlay, Illinois.
    Loss if any, payable to W. J. Warren, Morgager, and his interests.  President: C. O. Collmann.  Agent: W. B. Wallace.  Secretary:  Wm Trembor.  Eighteeneth day of January, 1898.  Measures: 17 x 21 inches unfolded. Policy is in nice condition, but has separated in places along the folds.
    Apparently, the German Insurance Company in Freeport, Illinois was ill-fated and a historian wrote, it was the victim of the great San Francisco earthquake as the company had sold to investors in San Francisco.  (James William Reamsnider ~ 1859-1934)
