Antique 1804 Hand Colored FRAKTUR Berks Cty, Pennsylvania MINTER Family Document

A very early Hand Colored Antique Pennsylvania German Taufschein from 1804.
A Birth and Baptism Certificate of the Minter Family.

There are two hand written inscriptions in German down the right hand side. One beneath the angel and the other beneath the birds.
This 216 year old document was folded and kept in a bible for many years, as a consequence the paper became brittle and discolored and has suffered some loss.  At some point a previous owner secured the back with brown paper tape (see image of back).  When it came to us, both the glass and frame were broken.  It is being sold unframed but we have protected the document, it is shrink wrapped and backed with mat board and a stiff heavy cardboard so no further loss will occur.  It will be shipped flat and well protected.
