Description

Small family archive of Victor Bogaert, born 1859 in Belguim, who led quite an exciting life.  Went to African in the 1870's to disrupt the slave trade, immigrated to Lexington Kentucky, became a jeweler and watchmaker, volunteered with the Red Cross during WWI near the front lines, knighted by the King of Belguim.
Included are photos from Belguim and Lexington.  One1909 photo of very handsome Romain Van der Vorst, possibly a relative, drawing of silver spoon design and the patent letter that goes with it.  Age toning, fold lines, writing on photos, fold tears on drawing.
