Very sweet, vintage 1950's "American Character"? "Sweet Sue"? hard plastic doll. She is unmarked and I know that Nancy Ann dolls were made with this face, also American Character used it, so I am not sure of the company that made this doll.  She stands 18 inches high and is a walker. When you move her legs, her head goes from side to side. She has a very shiny, glued-on wig in its original factory style, braids tied with original blue satin ribbon. Shiny blue sleep eyes with full lashes and fantastic face paint.  She is wearing her original outfit, of a white taffeta dress, that has delicate lace on the neck, sheer puffed sleeves, a fitted waist and very full skirt. The skirt has a ruffle around the bottom with a scalloped edge. It buttons in the back. Over that is a checkered black, yellow and pink taffeta pinafore, that is trimmed with lace, has a fitted waistband, has two yellow satin bow decorations on the bodice, full flared skirt, that has two yellow satin bow decorations on each side.  It also buttons in the back. Original white cotton panties that have an elastic waist and elastic on the legs.  She has replaced vintage nylon knit socks, that are the same age as the doll and replaced pink flocked slip on shoes that have a tiny gold tone decoration on the front.  I have made her a nylon net petticoat to make her skirt stand out nicely. She is in excellent condition. The only issue is that the scalloped edge on the underdress is frayed in some areas, as can be seen in the final photo.  Non smoking home.
