Three to See Edmonton Events: ESO Porter, Matt Epp and Northern Landscapes

Let’s Misbehave: The Songs of Cole Porter: Easily one of the hookiest songwriters of the last century and change, you can probably sing along to Cole Porter songs you didn’t even know he wrote.

Night and Day, You’re the Top, I Get a Kick Out of You, and Begin the Beguine are just the tip of Indiana-born Porter’s iceberg, and if you missed Friday’s celebration at Winspear, tickets still await for Saturday night’s show.

Tony DeSare plays piano, Aubrey Logan plays trombone and John Manzari tap dances — all three of them singing the greats. Cosette Justo Valdés will conduct the orchestra through songs like I’ve Got You Under My Skin and Anything Goes in this singalong set.

Wouldn’t it be a de-lovely night?

Details: 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Winspear Centre (4 Sir Winston Churchill Sq.), $37.50 and up at winspearcentre.com

Matt Epp: Energetic and lovely Toronto-by-way-of-Winnipeg singer-songwriter Matt Epp returns to our crunchy-leaf hamlet with, as he puts it, “a real deadly young Ojibwe kid JD Crosstown opening for me on tour,” which he says overall, “is a celebration of falling back in love with music and the profound call it has in my life.

“Storytelling has become more and more a part of me, and each night on stage, nothing scripted, I’m just excited again to share real life with real people — in person; we can’t take that for granted anymore.”

Epp’s got a great, soaring energy, please pop on by one of the city’s warmest music boxes!

Details: 6:30 p.m. Sunday at The Aviary (9314 111 Ave.), $20/the-aviary.net, $25/door

Northern Landscapes: Another bumpin’ opening at Trinity Gallery — this time landscape painter and outdoorsman Greg Hoosier to remind us of those milestones called seasons.

Exploring our magnificent vistas on bike, canoe, and kayak, Hoosier’s brush strokes are often delightfully fat and juicy, especially in his watercolours, and something about them makes you almost hear the land rustling under the wind.

Come immerse yourself!

Details: 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Gallery (10037 84 Ave.), no charge
